[Bxscience Key Club] Divisional at LaGuardia this Tuesday

Hi Key Clubbers!

There's a divisional this Tuesday at LaGuardia from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. We will be taking the 4 train to a 2 train. If you are interested in coming, meet wit me at the front lobby after SGI. We are not meeting outside the front main entrance because it should be raining.

Make sure you bring your school IDs! I'm not 100% sure that you will need this but better safe than sorry.

If you have any trouble, you can reach me at (908) 922-3609.

[Bxscience Key Club] Volunteers for Eco-Drive at School

Hi everyone!

During the last meeting, I talked about holding an Eco-Drive at school with JCC. This drive will collect old cellphones, batteries, and eyeglasses because they are be harmful in landfills. This drive will be held from this Wednesday to Friday during lunch periods. I will need at least one Key Clubber at each lunch period and you will get points! Mr. Kind will be there every 4th period. You're job would just be to sit at the collections boxes and answer any questions if needed. I'm assuming you would just say what this is for and what we are collecting.

Please fill out this form to show which lunch periods you can come.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEV6VzdiWkZLUmdtZ1V4RC1YQVByOEE6MQ

I NEED YOU GUYS TO TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT THIS. THE MORE PEOPLE WHO KNOW, THE MORE WE WILL COLLECT!

Just a heads up, I may be delivering the items from the drive on Friday. Please email back if you are willing to come with me to drop of the items at JCC.

We are also volunteering with JCC at their Eco-Fest. Please open this form to see if you are interested!

Also, I REALLY need volunteers for an event to help kids with spring-themed arts and crafts in a park. I've participated in an event with Jumpstart for winter-themed arts and crafts and it was one of my favorite Key Club event. However, if you signed up for Vision Walk, which is on the same day, you cannot sign up for this event.

For those who were at AIDS walk, yay! we made it through the rain!

Best,
Victoria Li

[Bxscience Key Club] URGENT: Summer Internship Opportunity!!

Hey Key Clubbers!!

I have recently chanced upon an AMAZING Summer Volunteer opportunity!!

This program is called the Reforestation Stewardship Summer Internship, and all you have to so is attend 3 training sessions (with the first one being THIS Saturday!) and volunteer for 12 hours during the summer for this internship!!

**NOTE: Due to the lateness of this message, if you absolutely cannot attend tomorrow's training session but
CAN attend the other two sessions, you can still participate in this internship!!**

This is a GREAT opportunity for some of you who are really busy and find it hard to obtain all your points during the school year to get a HEAD START this summer and lessen your load next year!! This also sounds like a lot of fun, it's great for the environment, you can get ARISTA volunteer credits for this, and it's definitely a BONUS on a college app-->So what's not to love?-->SIGN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

If you want to participate in this internship, all you have to do is fill out the form below (which has more info) and show up to the training sessions.

Volunteers will identify and remove invasive plant species to help maintain newly forested sites. Volunteers will be trained  at  three Saturday training sessions, on May 14, May 21 and June 11. After that you'll be provided with tools and be asked to return to the park for a total of about twelve hours throughout the summer to continue to work on the site.

Wishing you continued success on your APs,
Michelle Soto, Treasurer

[Bronx Science Key Club] Meeting Tomorrow in Teacher's Caf!

Hi everyone!

The Key Club meeting tomorrow will be in the Teacher's Cafeteria because the musical needs to use our room for practice. That's why we had to rush out of the room last week. Sorry!

For those who have ordered a tshirt, remember to bring in the money!
Uncustomized: $9
Customized: $13
The sooner we get the money in, the quicker we can buy the Tshirts and give it to you guys!

(Very Cute) Bears for Autism Walk
The profits will go to the Autism Speaks Foundation! We can only buy the bears if there is a minimum purchase of 72 bears!!!

Project, Public Relations, Scrapbooking, and Fundraising Committee Heads
If you are interested in being a committee head, meet with Jae at the end of the meeting!

We're going to have some games after the meeting, so come with suggestions if you have had any fun ones in the past! I'm bringing two of my personal favorites: human knot (link hands randomly and try to "unknot" ourselves) and zip zap zup (point to a person and pass "zip," "zap," and "zup" throughout the group).

Help kids with spring-themed arts and crafts in the park!
Sign up for event on Sat. May 21 with Jumpstart. We have volunteered with them before (instead it was winter-themed activities) and it was one of my favorite projects! Please sign up, this project needs some love :) I know many of you are unable to because you have signed up for Vision Walk, which is on the same day. To those who are available on that day, just think of the impact you could make on these kids' lives!
We need a project captain for this event (you get extra points)!
Activities: Reading Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, making butterflies, flowers, planting flowers, face painting and Zumba

See you tomorrow!
Victoria Li
