Hello all! I wish you the best of luck on your midterms. If you are a freshman/woman, do not fret! You are not alone when it comes to nerves and honestly you should not be nervous about anything. You will not fail and since a midterm is only 10% of your grade, the lowest you can drop (if you get a 75) is 2.5 points.
Here's some Key Club stuff to cheer you up :)
- Lilliian Xie was elected as our new LTG of Division 11 yesterday at the divisional! She goes to Hunter HS and she is super adorable.
- We started selling spots for the
Coffee House Fundraiser. You may pay to enter at the door at the time of the event.
-
MLK National Day of Service with Studentsforservice! <- This event sounds super fun. However, you MUST submit your waiver. If you have trouble sending your waiver, stuff your waiver into my locker 959 and I will figure out how to send it in for you. I'll be leaving school the latest, so make sure you get the paper in there before I finish my senior english midterm!
- If anyone is interested in the tutoring opportunity, let me know!
- If you have any toys that you do not want, please put them in the back of the cafeteria. Unfortunately, I won't be there early enough to set up a box for us, so put them on a table! The toys will go to children affected by Hurricane Sandy (and yes, they're still facing the horrors of the hurricane).
A couple of important notes:
-If you want to go to Leadership Training Conference, a wonderful learning experience, from March 22-24 at the Holiday Inn in Albany, please let me know. There you will meet Key Clubbers from all over the state, learn about how to be a better member or run for office or our projects, or enjoy some really awesome and fun ice breakers.
-You need 300 points by the end of May to receive credit for ARISTA
- If you need an ARISTA letter, let me know right away.
- There is a Distinguished Key Clubber Award and an application along with it. Our guide will be sent out soon to make the filling out of the application loads easier.
- Be punctual. If you sign up for an event, try your best to attend. You represent Bronx Science Key Club. You are a leader and you are capable of anything
Good night and good luck!
<3 Tamster
p.s. I hope to see many of you on Saturday!
