[Bronx Science Key Club] Upcoming Events and Division 11 Project!

Hey Bronx Science Key Club! It's Spring so there's going to be many more events! :D

Here are three events coming up:

1) MillionTrees NYC Planting Event (Saturday 4/2)

2) Walk MS (Saturday 4/30)

3) Japan Day Festival (Sunday 5/22)

The details regarding each event are on the registration forms linked above.  Please sign up in a timely manner and note that the forms have closing dates.  Registration for each event will be closed on the respective closing date so that we can send the number of people going to the organizations before the event date.

Another thing that has to be discussed is the planning of the next Division 11 Project.  I am going to organize a 2nd Amazing Race event to fundraise money (most likely for Japan relief efforts) and I need VOLUNTEERS! I need volunteers to help me plan the event and to help out on the day of the event (volunteers will not be able to participate).  Volunteers must also donate $5 instead of the $10 that participants have to donate. At the next Key Club meeting, I will be asking who would like to volunteer so think about whether or not you would like to do so.  I hope that with your help, we can make this Amazing Race event even more successful than the previous one and it will be less tiring (lol) because I know the previous one was quite...strenuous.

For Projects Committee members: I am very disappointed that almost nobody showed up for the last committee meeting (kudos to those that did) so you guys better start brainstorming some ideas for future projects and/or the Amazing Race event.

SIGN UP FOR EVENTS! Many other events are coming up soon! :)

--
Hope to see many of you at future KC events,
Alexander Guo

[Bronx Science Key Club] IMPORTANT EMAIL

Hey guys,

I apologize for not informing you that we did not have a meeting last Thursday, the 17th. I did not know until that day. If you waited for the meeting to find out it was canceled, I am very sorry.
I also apologize that you guys did not get to meet or see the special guest I told you all about. The special guest turned out to be Josephine Lukito, a former president of Bronx Science Key Club. She was the president during the 2007-2008 year of service during my freshman year. She has been the Lieutenant Governor for her Circle-K Division for the past 3 years and will be the next Governor for the New York District Circle-K.

On a brighter note, we will have special guests for the next 2 meetings so stay tuned!

I have attached the agenda I had planned for the 17th so everyone can see what I planned to talk about during the meeting. I will paste some of the more important information on this email:

B. Fundraising Competition: Fundraising Chair Julie Chen came up with the idea of having a competition to raise money for Japan. Key Clubbers will be encouraged to:

                        1. Make a donation box (much like the one for UNICEF)

                        2. Collect as many donations as possible for Japanese relief efforts

Subject: DKC Awards

Hey guys,

Can you please notify all your clubs immediately that if they sent their dkc award to me last night online to my email address to please resend asap. For some reason my email was hacked and my dkc folders were wiped out so if they sent me their dkc award last night or even the night before I no longer have it and they need to resubmit. Im so so sorry for the issue, I do not understand why my email would get hacked but I want to make sure everyone has their chance to apply for the award. Also due to all the chaos with the chair changing and stuff I will be accepting awards up until a week before convention. So inform your clubs. Thank you.

Yours In Service,
Lieutenant Governor

[Bronx Science Key Club] DKC and FOOD FAIR!!

Hey key clubbers,

1) This is just a reminder that food fair is TOMORROW!

We have a large table this time, so I expect people to bring tons of food to sell. This food fair is going to be bigger and better because we have members of the PTA, teachers, and even more hungry students looking for scrumptious food to devour. Try to bring in unique or cultural foods because they usually sell the best.

With this email I am attaching the sheet you need to fill out and bring with your food. Please fill it out properly!

I also need people to volunteer to help me set prices, watch the food, and sell. Remember you get POINTS for bringing in food and helping out!

2) For those who have completed and sent the Distinguished Key Clubber Application, CONGRATULATIONS!

For those who haven't but still want to, please fill it out immediately and sent it to katietoomey.ltg@nydkc.org ASAP.
The deadline has passed but an inside source told me they are still accepting applications.
IF you need me to write a recommendation, reply to this email or contact me any way ASAP.

Here is the guide to DKC: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AQ-mk0t6Eh76KqJlc04D2hb0CmsrN8p77LWB0NOltro/edit?authkey=COKvm5gK&hl=en&pli=1#

Remember that there is a meeting on Thursday with a special guest and that we will vote on our next hoodie during this meeting. Following the meeting will be our March Divisional @ Hunter College High School.

If you have any questions, email me!

Thanks and I hope to see you all tomorrow.
