Email notifications from Google Webmaster Tools

Dear Webmaster Tools user,

We know that having a healthy and well-performing website is important to you. To keep you informed about your site's status Webmaster Tools will now automatically send you a notification email if there are critical or important issues that we detect with your site.

We'll only send you email for issues that we think have significant impact on your site's health or search performance which have clear actions that you can take to address. For example, we'll email you if we detect malware on your site or see a significant increase in errors while crawling your site.

For most sites these kinds of issues will occur rarely. If your site does happen to have an issue we cap the number of emails we send over a certain period of time to avoid flooding your inbox.

If you don't want to receive any email from Webmaster Tools you can change your email delivery preferences at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/preferences.

We hope that you find this change a useful way to stay up-to-date on critical and important issues regarding your site's health.

Just a heads up about club fair: our table will most likely be outdoor (3:30-5:30). If you have 9th free, please help me set up (only if you want)! Please bring a sharpie marker as well. You can meet me either at my locker immediately after 8th period, our regular room 334 (I have to pick up some stuff and I need some people to help me with that), or outside at our table. Wear your tie-dye shirts, key club shirts and hoodies, or volunteer shirts. If you can, please print out some of your favorite key club pictures on a sheet of paper.

Our UNICEF boxes came in, so we can start collecting dues! Please put $13 in an envelope with your name, homeroom, and email address written on it. Hand them to any of the board members. It cannot be excepted if it is not in an envelope.

The last day to order a keyclub t-shirt will be october 4th! They are currently $20. Please ask your friends to ORDER ORDER ORDER it so the price can go down! The link is for the final design. I have already added the people who previously signed up for one.

[Bxscience Key Club] Club fair help

Hey!

Did you check out our new newsletter yet? If you're not a procrastinator, send in an article from an event you already attended (an event after August 15th)! Such as the beach clean up and the bowery soup kitchen. Also, keep taking pictures from events and if you'd like to upload them onto our photobucket, email bxkcscrapbook@gmail.com.

Here's a list of upcoming events:
1) Club Fair on THURSDAY: please please please wear key club attire (or any of the volunteering shirts) on that day! Talk to all of your friends or strangers about joining key club! Call out people in the hallway! (Hey (name), how do you feel? Reply: I feel good oh i feel so good, aiiight) Bring in a poster if you are artistic and have some free time to doodle! Share those magazines that I handed out. If you would like to help out during Club Fair, please stay after school! I'd like some people to hold up the posters just like last year and take pictures of us (qing, wanna use my baby?) If you have 9th free, please help me set up our table!
2) Light the Night (9/22) Walker or volunteer
3) JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes (9/30)

Have a lovely, rainy, and super windy day.

[Bxscience Key Club] Meeting and events!

Hey Bronx Science Key Club!

So how many of you were totally confused with the weird bells today? So many kids were late to their classes, but make sure one of them is not you because of that new no-cuts policy or whatever. There's a bunch of important stuff, so I'm gonna get straight to the point.

1) FIRST UNOFFICIAL MEETING IS THIS THURSDAY IN THE COURTYARD ON THE GRASS IN FRONT OF NED'S TRUCK. Since there is no SGI yet, the meeting will start at approximately 3:15. This will give you plenty of time to go to your locker, get food from Ned's/Ghetto/Bus Stop Truck (did you know that that's what the newest one is called? I found out today!) Be there or be square, especially since theres a surprise :)

2) Please write articles about the events from the past two months (after July 15) and send them to Connie (liangc4@bxscience.edu) or Qing (linq2@bxscience.edu)

3)9/16 Annual Beach Clean Up Day (I convinced my APES- AP Environmental Science- teacher to give us extra credit if we went :D )

5) Please make a poster so that we can publicize Key Club on club fair day (Thursday, Sept 20th) You will be given points for it. Name of club, a drawing or something nice. make it pretty please! Bring it  ASAP to any of the board members. Thanks again!!

<3 Tam

The Web is destined to become humankind's Cognitive Commons, where digital knowledge is jointly created and freely shared. The UK has been a leader in the global movement toward Open Access (OA) to research but very recently its leadership has been derailed by the joint influence of the publishing industry lobby from without and well-intentioned but premature and counterproductive over-reaching from within the OA movement itself.

The result has been the extremely counter-productive Finch Committee Report followed by a new draft of the RCUK OA policy, downgrading the role of cost-free OA self-archiving of research publications ("Green OA") in favour of paying subscription publishers extra money, over and above subscriptions, out of scarce research funds, in exchange for making single articles OA ("hybrid Gold OA"). The motivation is to reform publication and to gain certain re-use rights, but the likely effect will be researcher resistance, very little OA, a waste of scarce research funds and the loss of the UK's global leadership in the OA movement. There is still time to fix the RCUK policy. I will try to describe how and why.

ABSTRACT: Physics World seeks to reflect and report on the events, issues and personalities in the global physics community -- and to do so in a timely, accessible, accurate and entertaining way through our magazine, website, and audio and video content.
