[Bxscience Key Club] Re: Fundraiser Tomorrow! & beanie form hehe

Sorry, I changed the BEANIE FORM. People who RSVPed will be given first priority for tomorrows fundraiser.

I attached the meeting's agenda once again so you can update yourself in case you missed the meeting. It was great to see the room almost full again after the passing of midterms. May the second term bring you high grades and everlasting friendships!

If you attended the meeting you may have noticed how excited I was about the Coffee House Fundraiser tomorrow in the Library from 3:30-5:30. Please donate $3 at the door and bring your friends! Make sure your hand gets marked if you donated. If you already donated, tell Thomas and Irena who will be greeting you at the door because your name is on a "Paid List". Please arrive at 3:20 so that there wont be too much door traffic. Performers include members and non members from SING, some board members, Mr. McNickle, and many more. There will be an open mic at the end free for all. Refreshments include hot chocolate, tea, coffee, red velvet crinkle cookies, chocolate and vanilla cookies, and much more! ** If you are giving in hoodie money tomorrow at the fundraiser, do it discreetly.

Unfortunately, the Fight for Air Climb has enough volunteers :/ If you already registered online then you can go. If you were able to, LET ME KNOW.

The Divisional Stuffed Animal Event is on Feb 6 at 5:30 in Bronx Science. Stuffed your animal if you got one.

At the next meeting, members will have the option to make friendship bracelets after the meeting to give to significant others and to express some loooove. I will try to make the meeting speedy.

Download the DKC application here. It's due on February 15. Click here for a guide to help you fill out the form. Many of you are qualified.

Alas, here is the BEANIE FORM!!!  If you DEFINITELY are getting one, order one. Spread it around to other clubs in the city! You have one more hour to get a hoodie :)

[Bxscience Key Club] Things that need to be done right away

Hello all!

CONGRATULATIONS on completing your first term! Here's to all the seniors and the arrival of second term (Y) whoop whoop!

Here are a bunch of things that you need to do right away:
1. If you ordered a hoodie (you can still order one here), you need to give in the money at the meeting on Thursday. The latest day will be Friday, at the fundraiser. $28/$25 (EXACT CHANGE) must be in an envelope labeled with your name, email address, and hoodie money.
2. Apply for the distinguished key clubber award! The award is given to anyone who meets the requirements of being a dedicated member. Download the DKC application here. It's due on February 15. Click here for a guide to help you fill out the form. Its not complete yet because I'm still waiting on some information. Please check it out. We are always in the top 5 clubs with the most members awarded. This year will be no different and I expect at least 30 applicants because a LOT of you can get the award. When you are done with the application, send it to me and I will sign it digitally, and then forward it back to you.Any questions? Ask me, jae, or herman. DO NOT WAIT LAST MINUTE.
3. Reserve your spot/perform at the Coffee House Fundraiser on Friday!!!!
4. If you want to go to LTC, lmk.

Some of you guys are concerned that we do not have any events or that we didn't do as much as last year? I want to clarify that. This year has been soo successful thanks to you guys. We have already had 90 events and there are two months left. Last year, there were 85. I am proud that we are able to accomplish so much but I am even more astounded in the fact that our club is becoming more and more successful with each passing year.

Beanie interest: we need a 48 order minimum. They would also cost $10. If you can get people to get them and pay RIGHT AWAY as in the next week, then I will order them.

See you Thursday <3

[Bxscience Key Club] Destress via Key Club!

Hello all! I wish you the best of luck on your midterms. If you are a freshman/woman, do not fret! You are not alone when it comes to nerves and honestly you should not be nervous about anything. You will not fail and since a midterm is only 10% of your grade, the lowest you can drop (if you get a 75) is 2.5 points.

Here's some Key Club stuff to cheer you up :)

- Lilliian Xie was elected as our new LTG of Division 11 yesterday at the divisional! She goes to Hunter HS and she is super adorable.
- We started selling spots for the Coffee House Fundraiser. You may pay to enter at the door at the time of the event.
- MLK National Day of Service with Studentsforservice! <- This event sounds super fun. However, you MUST submit your waiver. If you have trouble sending your waiver, stuff your waiver into my locker 959 and I will figure out how to send it in for you. I'll be leaving school the latest, so make sure you get the paper in there before I finish my senior english midterm!
- Volunteer at a Senior Lunch Program on Sunday!
- Enjoy skating or falling at our Ice Skating Fundraiser #2 on SATURDAY. Please invite your friends!!! They do not have to go to our school. You can even bring along your family :)
- If anyone is interested in the tutoring opportunity, let me know!
- If you have any toys that you do not want, please put them in the back of the cafeteria. Unfortunately, I won't be there early enough to set up a box for us, so put them on a table! The toys will go to children affected by Hurricane Sandy (and yes, they're still facing the horrors of the hurricane).

A couple of important notes:
-If you want to go to Leadership Training Conference, a wonderful learning experience, from March 22-24 at the Holiday Inn in Albany, please let me know. There you will meet Key Clubbers from all over the state, learn about how to be a better member or run for office or our projects, or enjoy some really awesome and fun ice breakers.
-You need 300 points by the end of May to receive credit for ARISTA
- If you need an ARISTA letter, let me know right away.
- There is a Distinguished Key Clubber Award and an application along with it. Our guide will be sent out soon to make the filling out of the application loads easier.
- Be punctual. If you sign up for an event, try your best to attend. You represent Bronx Science Key Club. You are a leader and you are capable of anything

Good night and good luck!
<3 Tamster

p.s. I hope to see many of you on Saturday!

[Bxscience Key Club] A new year!

Good evening!

I wish you a wonderful and happy 2013 :) and a successful high school life. Your four years are going to flyflyfly by.
SO here's what you should be looking forward to!
  • Meeting tomorrow! A speaker is going to talk about service to the country! We are going to start off the meeting with something called the beaver song!
  • Hoodies: Please vote for your favorite one here and view the different designs here! Voting will end by the next Wednesday, the new hoodie will be announced, and money collection will start immediately.
  • The soldiers from Utah who received your holiday cards really appreciated them :)
  • Anyone who likes to perform ie sing, tell jokes, has a good puppet routine, can showcase their talent at a future "coffee house fundraiser". On a Friday very soon, we will sell off a limited number of tickets for a show in the library. We will also be serving refreshments. Please get your friends to sign up to perform! You can even read a piece of poetry, a short story, beat box, play an instrument, you name it. If you would like to perform, please click here
See you tomorrow!!!!!
