[Bxscience Key Club] QUICK UPDATE!

Hello guys!

I hope the midterms weren't too harsh on you, but if you didn't do well, look forward to this upcoming events!

UPDATES/REMINDERS
-This can't be stressed any more, but if you have NOT paid for your hoodies yet, give it in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! We can only order the hoodies once everyone gives their money in to confirm their order. So if you know a friend who hasn't given in their money, tell them to do so! Here is the list of all the orders for you to check!

-
-In the last email, I have sent out the  LTC Interest Form. LTC, or the Leadership Training Conference is an overnight trip in Albany where ALL the Key Clubs in the New York State meet to elect the District Board, win awards from their hard work in the past year, and start off the new service year! This is really a life-changing experience for those who are really into Key Club. If you want to know more about the organization that you've been a part of for the last few months/years, or you're interested in running for a position, this is definitely the event to attend. This event allows you to see the bigger picture of what Key Club is really about. There are going to be limited spots for this trip, so if you're interested in going, sign up! Signing up on the form doesn't mean you can go, but once you fill out the form, you will be considered for a spot in this trip. So answer the questions seriously. We will be taking your responses into great consideration. The form is going to close on February 7th!

-Besides that, one of the most popular awards to apply for is the Distinguished Key Clubber award (DKC)! This award is noncompetitive, and it's really one of the easiest awards to fill out when you have gone to many events. This is to award active members for being so dedicated to Key Club, growing as leaders, and giving back to the community. It is definitely worth filling out this application, because your name will be on the screen for all of NY state to see! As a club, we usually have one of the longest lists of award winners for this award and it really shows how dedicated our members are. You can find the application HERE, and here is a DKC Guide to help you fill it out! To verify the application, you must get 3 signatures from:

President Irena Chen (cheni2@bxscience.edu)
Faculty Advisor Cailin Daly (daly@bxscience.edu
Faculty Advisor Alexandra Reingold (reingold@bxscience.edu)
LTG Lillian Xie (lillianxie.ltg@nydkc.org
YOU! - your own signature counts!

If you have any questions regarding LTC, feel free to ask us questions! We'll be more than happy to answer them for you :)

Good luck with the rest of your midterms, and see you next week!

[Bxscience Key Club] Brace yourselves for the upcoming tests!

Hellooooo beavers! :)
So if you've missed today's meeting, here are the upcoming events!

Divisional Ice Skating Fundraiser 1/11
Mulchfest 1/11 LIMITED SPOTS, so sign up!!

Besides the upcoming events, we also had the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections. After many speeches, we would like to congratulate the Presidential-Elect Jasmine Quindala and Vice-Presidential-Elect Timmy Zhu for the '13-'14 service year.
To all the candidates today, you really did give your opponents competition, and we applaud you for that. If you were not elected, don't let that take over you; you may be missing other great opportunities in the future! It's been done before in previous years, so use this experience and take it into your judgement for future opportunities.

REMINDERS:
-I have announced before that the form for ordering hoodies will close tonight. But due to popular demand, the ordering form will close TUESDAY NIGHT. As of now, the price for uncustomized hoodies is in the low 20s, while for customized, around $25. The more people who order, the cheaper it will be! Since the form is closing Tuesday, you can start paying next week at the meeting! The official price will be confirmed after the ordering is done. If you have anything to change on your order, this is the type to tell us now. So email us if there's anything you want to change.
-Like today, we will continue our elections next week, which will be the Secretary and Treasurer elections. Please come on time, so we can start and end the meeting earlier! Thank you for being so cooperative and respectful to the candidates today, I greatly appreciate it. Do continue this for the next elections! Remember, ONLY OFFICIAL MEMBERS CAN ATTEND!
-Wristbands have finally arrived! They are $1 each, and we will be selling them at the meeting next week!

See you guys next week, and good luck with those upcoming tests!! (Oh in class midyears)

[Bxscience Key Club] Happy New Year!!

Hello Beavers,

Happy New Year to you all, I hope you had a lovely winter break! Here are some quick updates:

Divisional Ice Skating Fundraiser 1/11

The Divisional Ice Skating Fundraiser will be at the World Ice Arena in Flushing at 12:30pm!
It will be $13 for admission and rental, and $8 for just admission. Proceeds will be donated for the Philippines! :)

UPDATES/REMINDERS:

-We raised $200 at our Holiday Banquet!! So thank you for coming, and I hope you guys had a great time at the dinner.
-For the can drive that we held before Thanksgiving, thanks to your contributions we collected 1,779 pounds of cans for the shelters!
-The hoodie order forms have already been sent out, but if you didn't know, ordering will end THIS SATURDAY. I will close the form Saturday night; if you haven't order a hoodie yet, do it!! The more orders that are made, the cheaper the hoodies will be! We will start collecting hoodie money next week. Please give the money in with your name, homeroom, whether your hoodie is customized or what, and what is written on the back of your hoodie (if it is customized).
-Speaking of next week, we will be starting our ELECTIONS. Next week will be the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections. Only official members can come to the meeting and vote, so bring your receipt as proof that you are an official member! If you do not have your receipt, we will check you on a list at the door.

For the upcoming weeks, be respectful to the candidates in the elections. Do not vote for someone just because you promised them that you would. Holding an officer position is a job that requires a lot of dedication, time, and effort, and we will be taking these elections seriously. As for the Q&A sessions, ask questions that help you know more about the candidates, because they will be leading the club next year. Do not vote for someone because they are your friend. Vote for the candidate who you believe is most qualified for the position.

See you next week!!
