[Bxscience Key Club] HELLOOO little beavers!

Hello guys!! :)

It was nice seeing you all after two weeks of not meeting, but if you didn't come to today's meetings, here's a quick update! Here are the upcoming events:

Fight for Air Climb 3/1
Project Cicero 3/8-3/9 (you can pick your own shifts!) Sorry to trouble you guys, but if you signed up, please do so again, I need to keep track of which shifts you have signed up for! Thank you.

UPDATES/REMINDERS:

-Because of the tragic weather two weeks ago, the Divisional was cancelled. But no worries! Come to the MARCH DIVISIONAL at HSMSE NEXT FRIDAY!! If you have heard about LTC countless times but you still don't know what it is, come to this meeting! You also get to meet a lot of Key Clubbers from other schools such as LaGuardia, Stuyvesant and Hunter!

-Even if you're not attending LTC, help Division 11 win at the PENNY WARS! Collect your pennies and bring them to the meeting! There will be a jar in the Chemistry Department, so feel free to drop by there to give in your pennies! We only need pennies to win, but to sabotage others, be prepared to gather your change too! So save your nickels, quarters and dimes and we will be collecting them separately! Spread the word! I'm sure everyone has pennies that they can spare! :)

Stay warm, my little beavers!

[Bxscience Key Club] Finally, MidWinter Break!

Hello little beavers!!

Unfortunately due to the terrible weather on Thursday, we could not meet but I hope you enjoyed your Valentine's Day today! Here is a quite update and I will be listing some important announcements below:

Fight for Air Climb 3/1 CLOSES TONIGHT
Project Cicero 3/8-3/9 (you can pick your own shifts!) Sorry to trouble you guys, but if you signed up, please do so again, I need to keep track of which shifts you have signed up for! Thank you.

UPDATES/REMINDERS:
-Melissa mentioned this last week but if you have any thing about your points that you want to change, fix or correct, fill out this form so Melissa can fix it! POINTS CHANGE REQUEST FORM

-Project Captains: everytime an event is done, please fill this form out describing how the event went and what you did! This will really help Melissa on her paperwork. Thank you! PROJECT CAPTAIN FORM

-If you haven't heard of LTC yet, it's a Leadership Training Conference where most of the Key Clubs in New York State meet in Albany to elect the new district board, win awards and just celebrate the ending and beginning of the service terms. Besides that, one of the most popular awards to apply for is the Distinguished Key Clubber award (DKC)This award is noncompetitive, and it's really one of the easiest awards to fill out when you have gone to many events. This is to award active members for being so dedicated to Key Club, growing as leaders, and giving back to the community. It is definitely worth filling out this application, because your name will be on the screen for all of NY state to see! As a club, we usually have one of the longest lists of award winners for this award and it really shows how dedicated our members are. You can find the application HEREand here is a DKC Guide to help you fill it out! To verify the application, you must get 3 signatures from:

President Irena Chen (bxsciencekeyclub@gmail.com)
Faculty Advisor Cailin Daly (daly@bxscience.edu
Faculty Advisor Alexandra Reingold (reingold@bxscience.edu)
LTG Lillian Xie (lillianxie.ltg@nydkc.org
YOU! - your own signature counts!

Remember, this award must be postmarked by February 25th! This honestly doesn't take much time and it's break so there's no excuse for you to not try to apply!!

-The LTC Interest Form has closed. For those of you who have signed up, you will be receiving an email regarding the trip if you are chosen to come. Be expecting an email on Tuesday/Wednesday!!

Enjoy your break guys! I hope your shoes will stop getting wet from those nasty puddles.

Hellooo my little beavers!

It was nice to see you all after a week of midterms and crack corny jokes. :) But onto business! Our upcoming events are:

Project Cicero 3/8-3/9 (you can pick your own shifts!)

UPDATES/REMINDERS:
-LAST NOTICE: HOODIE MONEY IS DUE TOMORROW, if you don't give it in by tomorrow, your order will be cancelled. My locker is 1553 near room 222, have your envelope (of money) prepared with your name, homeroom and whether your order is customized or not.

-Do you have worn out jeans that you don't wear anymore? Bring them to a box at the back of the cafeteria or in the ARISTA office! When homeless teens are asked what they want, many ask for a pair of jeans. In Teens for Jeans the organization DoSomething works with Aeropostale to distribute these jeans out to less fortunate teens. So why not? Give your jeans away for a good cause! We need them by February 14th

-Depression and isolation affect 6.5 million American seniors. So spread a little love to them by making Valentine cards. Meals on Wheels will be distributing the cards to senior homes. I need them by WEDNESDAY, so either find me or slip them in my locker by then! Here are the instructions: http://www.dosomething.org/loveletters

-In the last email, I have sent out the  LTC Interest Form. LTC, or the Leadership Training Conference is an overnight trip in Albany where ALL the Key Clubs in the New York State meet to elect the District Board, win awards from their hard work in the past year, and start off the new service year! This is really a life-changing experience for those who are really into Key Club. If you want to know more about the organization that you've been a part of for the last few months/years, or you're interested in running for a position, this is definitely the event to attend. This event allows you to see the bigger picture of what Key Club is really about. There are going to be limited spots for this trip, so if you're interested in going, sign up! Signing up on the form doesn't mean you can go, but once you fill out the form, you will be considered for a spot in this trip. So answer the questions seriously. We will be taking your responses into great consideration. The form is going to close on TOMORROW NIGHT at 11PM! (If you have any questions about the trip and you want to know more about it, feel free to ask me! I'll be more than happy to explain this trip with more details!)
