Hi everyone!

You might be thinking: Oh geez, this is a long email. But read through it all because it is full of very important information. As the meetings get busier (collecting UNICEF money, giving out membership cards, nominations), we may have to shorten the portion where we give updates so it is extremely crucial for you to update yourself by reading our update emails thorougly.

IMPORTANT: Nominations for Election
December is going to be a busy month for us as we will be starting elections for the next leaders of Key Club! We are holding nominations for candidates for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Editor. Our goal is to  You can learn more about each of these positions by reading forms that detail the responsibilities of each by clicking here. (Note: Our club editor is both the Bulletin Editor and Webmaster.) If you believe you are capable of fulfilling one of these officer positions and your friends agree, they can nominate you at a meeting. During elections, you will make a 3 minute speech followed by a 2 minute questions and answers. If you have any questions about this or a certain officer position, feel free to email any of the officers.
Do not nominate friends as a joke. This is a serious matter because who you vote for will decide the future of the club.

Sign Petition for Teachers (from Public Relations Chair Amanda Tam)
Hi! Petitions are a great way to advocate about causes and for many of you, this may be your first petition.
A great thing about signing a petition is that you are helping support a cause. Another great thing is that if you sign a petition, you can apply for the Distinguished Key Clubber Award (which is an award that is given to key clubbers who apply and meet certain requirements that show the person has been more active than regular members. A requirement is advocacy points.)
For every petition that you sign, you gain advocacy points, something great in Key Club that further makes you a cooler Key Clubber.
Here are the steps for signing the petition:
1)Please sign the petition online here at: http://www.change.org/petitions/tell-congress-effective-teachers-are-key-for-education-reform
-you may have to create an account. Please do so!
 2) Save the document that is attached to the email. This is your proof that you signed a petition. Please save it on your desktop or as a google document labeled as: Petition: Save Great Teachers. Sign the petition at the  bottom and make sure the date of the petition is correct. (I will always have the petition in case you need it for the application for the DKC award)
3) Encourage your friends to sign it too! They dont have to be in Key Club. Advocate by putting the link on fb or tumblr or anything.
If you have any questions, please email Amanda at tama@bxscience.edu or Alexandra at garciaa1@bxscience.edu.

Dues Deadline - Thur. 12/8
Treasurer Michelle Soto will be accepting dues at the next meeting but THAT WILL BE THE LAST TIME. We will NOT be accepting any later dues. Remember, dues need to be $13 in CASH in an envelope labeled with your full name, homeroom, osis, and email.

Membership Cards Pick Up
We have received the first batch of Key Club International membership cards and are handing it out at meetings ONLY. If you paid your dues early in the year, it is very likely that we have received your card so come pick it up!

Take 5 seconds to fill out this form for the Yearbook because we will be featured in it :)
